The first two minutes and thirty seconds of this video is worth a peek if either of the following statements apply to you:
1) You're under the impression that West Virginia is a liberal bastion that's progressive in every way.
2) You're looking for definitive evidence that certain Americans should be excluded from the democratic process.
Are you like me? Did your head just explode?

I am really quite pleased for me that my diverse European heritage leaves a lot of people guessing about my racial/ethnic make-up. Hooray for anonymity in these truly embarrassing times.
Well, she a whitey, but a woman. And he a blackey, but a man. What a poor country folk to do?
I was recently in Tennessee, where the Civil War was referred to as "the War of Northern Agression." It's a different world.
More fun (and ironic) Civil War facts from Wikipedia:
West Virginia broke away from Virginia during the American Civil War and was admitted to the Union as a separate state on June 20, 1863 (an anniversary now celebrated as West Virginia Day in the state). It is one of only two states formed during the American Civil War (along with Nevada) and is the only state to form by seceding from a Confederate state and one of two states to secede from another state (Kentucky also seceded from Virginia but before the Civil War).
